Mike Perry Free Breakdown
Perry brings big power on the toes and a durable style to embrace brawls. He can be outmanoeuvred by specialized boxers but against the likes of Ponzinibbio, a top competitive striker for the branch, he was very aggressive. Perry is strong in the clinch but his takedown defense remains unproven against a valid grappler. Cowboy could exploit the ground game as he has underrated wrestling, but he tends to struggle unpredictable gameplans. Getting sucked into brawls is a frequent issue and here against Perry that could be a significant mistake. He’s got big electricity himself but both men are quite hittable. On the toes it likely favours Perry, at least to the first half of the struggle when he’s most dangerous. Look for a back and on war, together with the durability of Perry which makes the difference — as both men consume serious damage.Andrei Arlovski Breakdown
Arlovski is on a 3 battle losing streak but has been aggressive in most fights going back to his KO loss to Ngannou. In 40 years old he brings a much less aggressive fashion nowadays that has lead to six sequential choices. His output seems to be slowing his exact boxing style stays, permitting him to function behind a jab against diminished competitions. Sakai is considerably younger so could be advancing, but so far has failed to impress. He is large and yells powerful yet slow singular strikes, with low quantity. Primarily a fighter, Arlovski will not need to be worried about too many different weapons.
This is likely to be a slow fight with the more effective striker coming out on top. Start looking for Arlovski to prevent exchanges and poke Sakai from the outside or utilize his wrestling to maintain him against the weapon. If he can avoid becoming caught a decision here is probably for the underdog.
Bet = Arlovski in 2.30 (+130) odds. Risk 3 Units to acquire 3.90 Units.
Virna Jandiroba Breakdown
Jandiroba is a serious BJJ blackbelt making her UFC introduction with a 14-0 record. She’s jiu-jitsu wins over both Claudia Gadelha and Amanda Nunes. Whilst limited with striking, she’s relentless with takedowns and has a wide array of techniques to get fights to the floor. On top she is very solid, keeping control and attacking subs. This is obviously a large step up in competition from Invicta against Esparza, a true veteran. Carla is on a losing streak against fellow grapplers and has not displayed great takedown shield to match her offensive wrestling skills. She would be best to try and keep this fight standing where her enhanced striking ought to have the ability to edge out volume.
Jandiroba isn’t shown at this level but looks like the real deal, displaying exceptional technique and composure. Worst case scenario Esparza is able to defend her off back and make scrambles to induce dramatic exchanges, taking us to a close decision. A better position is Jandiroba dominating with her high control and securing a unanimous decision or locating a submission. An Esparza finish is quite unlikely. Given the odds and various paths to victory, a shot to the newcomer in money is good price.
