MMA ODDS AND ENDS FOR TUESDAY: DC VS. HENDO RUMORED FOR UFC 175

A matchup between two of the top-10 light heavyweights in the world is rumored to occur at UFC 175. According to a report from MMAFighting.com, Daniel Cormier is likely to face legend Dan Henderson at UFC 175 that July in Las Vegas. Previously, Cormier was linked to a struggle against Rafael Feijao, but the UFC has apparently thought twice about that matchup and will do Cormier/Hendo instead. Even though the report was said to be untrue by UFC president Dana White through Twitter, we all know that White enjoys to keep these kind of things in house till they are 100 percent official, and of course as the old expression goes,”Where there is smoke there’s fire.” I truly do think this matchup between Cormier and Henderson happens because it’s the fight that makes most sense from the 205lb division right now. There are a lot of individuals out there discussing how awful Henderson appeared in the initial two rounds of his struggle with Shogun Rua in UFC Fight Night 38 a few weeks past, and he certainly did not seem as the Hendo of older for the first 10 minutes. However, what people forget is that the struggle was scheduled for 25 minutes, and Henderson got the job finished in the 16th minute of the fight. So I feel like lovers and media have been far overly critical of Henderson considering that, you knowthat he won the struggle with Shogun. As far as Cormier goes, he has been unbeaten in his mixed martial arts profession and basically untested for the most part as he’s been pretty much flawless in all his struggles, including his three in the UFC against Roy Nelson, Frank Mir, and Pat Cummins. But I truly believe Henderson is a much more dangerous fighter compared to all three of these guys, and this struggle between DC and Hendo isn’t a walk in the park for DC, regardless of what some people are saying. That said, clearly Henderson would enter the fight with Cormier has a big favorite, if it really goes down. My guess is that DC opens roughly -400 for the fight, one which is likely to function as co-main occasion of UFC 175 if that event happens. I believe that’s a fair spot for DC, but I wouldn’t surprised at all when the betting public bets him up to a crazy number, possibly. We get confirmation of the bout soon, since I presume Hendo is the ideal test for DC and if Cormier can complete him in impressive fashion, he’ll have really got his title shot against Jon Jones.
